1. Do I qualify for the PowerSeller Challenge?
You can participate in the PowerSeller Challenge if you:

  • Are a member of the US or Canadian PowerSeller program as of November 15, 2007 or qualify for the PowerSeller program as of November 15, 2007 and accept the invitation to the PowerSeller program no later than November 30, 2007.
  • Retain PowerSeller status from November 15, 2007 through December 26, 2007.
  • Have an active eBay account in good financial standing (e.g., no overdue balances).

2. How do I accept the invitation to the PowerSeller program so I can sign up for the Challenge?
If you qualify for the PowerSeller program as of November 15, 2007, you must accept the invitation to the PowerSeller program no later than November 30, 2007 to participate in the PowerSeller Challenge.

To accept the invitation to the PowerSeller program, go to http://www.ebay.com/powerseller/ and log in to the PowerSeller portal. Then return to http://www.ebay.com/powersellerchallenge/ to register for the PowerSeller Challenge program.

3. How do I participate in the PowerSeller Challenge?
If you qualify, you can sign up for the PowerSeller Challenge at any time during the duration of the PowerSeller Challenge (November 15 through December 26).

4. How do I participate in the PowerSeller Challenge Sweepstakes?
By signing up and participating in the PowerSeller Challenge, you are automatically entered for a chance to win $1,500 (USD)! Ten sweepstakes prizes will be awarded.

In addition, you have the opportunity to receive a credit equal to 1% or 1.5% of the difference between your individual sales target and your actual eligible sales during the 6-week period of the PowerSeller Challenge.

5. What is the duration of the PowerSeller Challenge?
The PowerSeller Challenge begins November 15, 2007 and ends December 26, 2007.

6. Why is this program only for PowerSellers?
PowerSellers rank among the most successful eBay sellers in terms of product sales volume and customer satisfaction on eBay. We are proud to recognize and reward their contributions to the success of the eBay Community. The PowerSeller program is open to all sellers who qualify.

7. How is my target calculated?
Your target is calculated based on your last 12 months of eligible sales on eBay.com, eBay Express, Half.com, eBay Motors Parts & Accessories and eBay.ca. Your target is set by taking your highest 6-week period of eligible sales over the 12 months preceding the beginning of the PowerSeller Challenge (November 15, 2007), and increasing this amount by 10% to account for the growth in sales for eBay PowerSellers during the holidays. Please note that in all cases minimum target is $1,500 (USD) of eligible sales.

For example, if your highest 6-week period of eligible sales over the last 12 months was November 1, 2006 through December 12, 2006 and your eligible sales for that period were $2,000 (USD), then your target for the PowerSeller Challenge will be $2,200 (USD) ($2,000 (USD) increased by 10%).

Eligible sales and targets exclude sales from Live Auction and Ad Format listings, Vehicles, Real Estate and Business & Industrial Capital Equipment.

8. Why is my target different than other sellers?
Our intent with the PowerSeller Challenge is to give each PowerSeller an additional incentive to beat their personal best in terms of sales. If the target were the same for all sellers, it would be very easy for some and very difficult for others to accomplish, and would result in an unfair program. For this reason, targets are set individually using a method that takes into account your previous sales activity to determine achievable goals.

9. Which websites and categories are included in the calculation of my targets and eligible sales?
Sales on eBay.com, eBay Express, Half.com, eBay Motors Parts & Accessories and eBay.ca are included in the calculation of sales targets and eligible sales towards the target. Sales targets and eligible sales exclude sales from Live Auction and Ad Format listings, Vehicles, Real Estate and Business & Industrial Capital Equipment.

10. If I register at any time during the PowerSeller Challenge, how are my eligible sales calculated?
You can register for the program at any time during the 6-week period, from November 15, 2007 through December 26, 2007, as long as you are a confirmed PowerSeller by November 30, 2007. All your eligible sales accrued for the duration of the PowerSeller Challenge will be accounted for, just the same as if you joined at the start of the program.

Please note that when you join the PowerSeller Challenge, it may take up to 24 hours for your eligible sales to date to be updated on the dashboard.

11. What is the maximum reward?
The maximum reward that you can receive is $1,500 (USD) for the PowerSeller Challenge.

  • If you surpass your sales target, you will receive a credit equal to 1% of the difference between your individual sales target and your actual eligible sales during the 6-week PowerSeller Challenge.
  • If your Detailed Seller Rating (DSR) scores are equal to or greater than 4.5 in all four DSR scores, and if the average of all four DSR scores is equal to or greater than 4.8, then you will receive a credit equal to 1.5% of the difference between your individual sales target and your actual sales during the 6-week PowerSeller Challenge.

In addition, you could also win one of the ten $1,500 (USD) PowerSeller Challenge sweepstakes prizes.

12. What Detailed Seller Rating (DSR) score do I need to achieve to get 1.5% back?
In order to receive a credit equal to 1.5% back on the difference between your individual sales target and your actual sales during the 6-week PowerSeller Challenge, your Detailed Seller Rating (DSR) scores must be:

  • equal to or greater than 4.5 in all four DSR scores
  • and the average of all four DSR scores must be equal to or greater than 4.8.

13. Why do PowerSellers with certain Detailed Seller Rating (DSR) scores get 1.5% back?
With Detailed Seller Ratings, buyers can provide additional information about their transactions, and sellers can get a more complete picture of their performance. There are Detailed Seller Ratings in four areas – item as described, communication, shipping time, and shipping and handling charges. We want to recognize and reward sellers that provide excellent buyer experiences on eBay. To learn more about Detailed Seller Ratings go to the DSR help page.

14. At what point in time will eBay review my Detailed Seller Rating (DSR) scores to determine if I qualify for the 1.5% back?
Detailed Seller Rating (DSR) scores will be reviewed at the end of the PowerSeller Challenge Period (December 26, 2007). We want to give PowerSellers the opportunity to improve their DSR scores during the busy holiday season.

15. Can I get 1.5% back on my eligible Half.com sales?
This year, we are including Half.com sales in the PowerSeller Challenge. Since Half.com does not use Detailed Seller Ratings (DSRs), Half.com PowerSellers can qualify for the 1% back (up to $1,500 (USD)).

16. Since my sales target and eligible sales are in US dollars, and sales on ebay.ca are in Canadian dollars, how do you account for Canadian dollar sales for the PowerSeller Challenge?
All sales targets and eligible sales are in US dollars. If you sell on eBay.ca in Canadian dollars:

  • For the calculation of your sales target - any sales in Canadian dollars have been converted into US dollars using the exchange rate on the date of each sales transaction.
  • For the calculation of your eligible sales - sales in Canadian dollars will be converted to US dollars using the exchange rate for that day during the PowerSeller Challenge period. The dashboard is updated every 24 hours and will present your eligible sales in US dollars after the exchange rate is applied.

17. When are rewards paid, and how are they distributed?
Within 4-6 weeks from the end of the PowerSeller Challenge, eBay will process and apply your individual reward amount to your eBay account. The amount of your reward will be reflected as a credit on your February 2008 eBay invoice if you surpass your sales target.

18. How and when are the PowerSeller Challenge Sweepstakes winners determined?
Potential winners will be selected in a random drawing on or about January 7, 2008 from among all eligible entries received. Potential winners will be notified by electronic mail and/or phone on or about January 15, 2008. The random drawing will be conducted by Strobe Promotions, Inc., an independent judging organization.
